iamwhoami was commissioned by the Los Angeles Philharmonic for the 2019 LA Phil 'Noon to Midnight' Festival at the Walt Disney Concert Hall. The piece was premiered by the International Contemporary Ensemble and was facilitated through the National Composers Intensive Program. The piece was named as some of the "most experimental music of not just the day, but the season" by the Los Angeles Times.
The piece is primarily concerned with digital curation and the separation of a contiguous identity into smaller segments, and includes samples from Mark Zuckerberg's F8 keynote. For more information about the piece, please refer to the program and performance notes section of the score.
